McMackin isn't overlooking Idaho

About how Idaho has improved from the last time UH played at the Kibbie Dome, GM said:
"Our guys know how important it is to not overlook them. We see a lot of improvement in them. They don't play like they did two years ago." (HSB)

About why they should not overlook Idaho, GM said:
"They're getting the most out of their athletes. They played well against USC (a 38-10 loss) and they were ahead of Washington State. They got their win against Cal Poly, and they should've won last week against Northern Illinois, but that was an accident game. They had all kinds of accidents go against them." (HSB)

Idaho averages 375.0 yards a game and allows 388.8 -- and those numbers include a game against the top-ranked team in the nation. Perhaps the Vandals are better than their record. But Hawaii is still favored by nearly four touchdowns.

About how Idaho's OL should be respected, and how they are better than La Tech's OL that played dirty, GM said:
"I think they're better than LaTech. They held and grabbed face masks. (Idaho's) offensive front is as good as any we've played yet." (HSB)

Not trusting the reports from Idaho that says that their star RB (Deonte Jackson) will miss the game, GM said:
"They say Jackson isn't going to play, but I'll believe it when I see it." (HSB)

About how Idaho's offensive coordinator (Steve Axman) knows JJ and him well, GM said:
"He was the offensive line coach with June and Mouse and me with the Denver Gold. He's a very good offensive coach." (HSB)

Prasing Sol Elimimian, GM said:
"His speed is a great attribute, and he has great instincts. Solly's a leader and he's very smart." (HSB)
