Colt sent gift to honor a UH fan who died coming back from the Sugar Bowl

HSB Note: "The family of Ernest A'ana, an avid University of Hawaii fan who died while on a trip to the Sugar Bowl, received a FedEx package last week from former University of Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan. A'ana, 70, who had liver cancer and a stomach aneurysm, insisted on traveling to Louisiana to watch the UH Warriors play and to visit a daughter in Florida. He attended the game but was taken off a return flight for medical reasons and died Jan. 5 in Atlanta from complications to his aneurysm. Brennan heard about A'ana's story and sent his family a package that contained two souvenir photos signed and inscribed to "my number one fan." "

About Colt's gift, A'ana's daughter Shanita Akana said:
"It was wonderful. We were really appreciative." (HSB)

HSB Note: "The family framed the photos, one taken at the Sugar Bowl and the second at Diamond Head, and displayed them at A'ana's funeral Saturday. Akana said her family plans to include Brennan's souvenirs in a memorabilia wall for A'ana."
