Fresno Bee feature on Bryant Moniz
FB = Fresno Bee
About how he didn't vomit during his first D-IA start (last year against Fresno State), Bryant Moniz said:
"I didn't think I ever threw up -- I might have gagged a little bit, but I held most of it in." (FB)
About how he was too exited during his first UH start and UH fell behind Fresno State by 39 points after 3 quarters, Moniz said:
"I was just too excited last year against Fresno State. I think I ran out of our tunnel without my helmet. I was just really jacked up and all over the place. Now that I've run out of the tunnel a few times, I've calmed down a bit and can concentrate on my responsibilities." (FB)
About how Moniz improved his arm strength during the offseason, Mack said:
"His arm is so much stronger. Last year we used to have to rest him one to two days. He's improved a lot." (FB)
About how he improved with reps, Moniz said:
"More reps, the better." (FB)
About how the QBs and WRs have to read the defenses correctly, Mack said:
"Everything is a read, so the receiver and the quarterback have to be on the same page. It's not a called play. A play could end up being 10 different breaks by the receiver. You add in the other three, four receivers, [and] the quarterback and receivers really have to have a feel for each other and see the same things. [Moniz] really has a feel for the offense." (FB)
