Bryant Moniz will start against Army and Laupepa Letuli is expected to play

About how QB Bryant Moniz did well in 7-on-7 and team periods against the scout defense yesterday in practice, Rolo said:
"He didn't look to have a whole lot of rust, threw the ball well and was dialed in." (HSA)

About how Moniz will start at QB against Army, Mack said:
"(Moniz) took reps today and he is going to be our starting quarterback. He's been fine. The doctors and trainers and all of us care about everybody's health and we've just been real conservative. He didn't have headaches or any of the symptoms from concussions, but we wanted to just be careful. Today was the first day he's really taken reps and he'll be ready to go." (HSA)

About how Moniz slid or went out of bounds during his runs against USC except for the run near the goal line when he was injured, Rolo said:
"That end zone is like Lord of the Rings. It's their precious." (HSA)

About how his strained calf is improving and he expects to practice tomorrow and play against Army, RT Laupepa Letuli said:
"I'm a little nicked up, but that's the way football is." (HSA)

About how his playing time against USC when he replaced Letuli was his first extensive playing time since 2007, LaCount said for the first few plays:
"I was pretty nervous to tell the truth. But after that it felt good." (HSA)

About how LaCount is in better shape now than he was before last season, Gordy Shaw said:
"He's trimmed down a lot. He's lost a small human being in terms of his weight." (HSA)

About how Army relies upon their speed and blitzes to pressure the passer, Shaw said:
"Their scheme is to make you block five guys and cover you as long as they can. If they rush five and one guy wins, they win. Four out of five is a good percentage, but it's not good enough for us to win this game. We have to win every play five out of five to get the ball out and get it to our receivers." (HSA)

About how their OL played well against USC, Shaw said:
"It's all about confidence and believing in yourself and I don't think any one of those guys had any doubts in their minds that they were going to be able to do the job." (HSA)
