Quotes after Wednesday's spring practice

HSB Note: "Shane Austin has the experience (limited as it is), Brent Rausch has the rocket arm and David Graves has the playmaking ability. But Shutter is a proven winner, albeit at the high school level, where he led Punahou to a state championship two years ago."

About how he's gaining confidence in their offense, Cayman Shutter said:
"I redshirted last year so I didn't really run the offense. So I'm a rookie this year, but I'm getting confidence." (HSB)

About how the QBs play video games and board games in Rolo's office, Shutter said:
"We have a little quarterback clubhouse in Rolo's (offensive coordinator Nick Rolovich) office. We have board games, Wi, XBox, well, until someone stole my XBox. Even in high school, my coach said, I heard playing Madden makes you better. We have contests where you play for reps, and you get to call your own play." (HSB)

About not playing last year, Shutter said:
"You can't get down on yourself. A quarterback without confidence isn't going to do anything." (HSB)

HSB Note: "He said there is no change in the status of Bryant Moniz, who ended last season as the incumbent QB starter, but has missed the last three practices while on leave attending to what McMackin terms "personal business." "

Happy about their spring practice today, Mack said:
"We had our best practice of the spring today." (HSB)
