Bryant Moniz wants to add his running ability to UH's offense

About how his mobility can add to their offense, Bryant Moniz said:
"That's something I hope to add to the team and hopefully strengthen in the offseason because I think I can get a lot better running-wise and become a real dual threat. Whatever it takes to help the team." (HSB)

Moniz said that he rarely left the pocket in high school and JC and that his 31-yard run against Utah State:
"was probably my longest run ever. Even if I scramble, I try to look for somebody that breaks open." (HSB)

About how Moniz makes big third down plays with his running ability, QB coach Nick Rolovich said:
"He picks up at least two, maybe three, big first downs running the ball. Third down is a big thing for defense coaches." (HSB)

About how it is hard to prepare defenses to face dual-threat QBs like Kaepernick and Borel the past 2 weeks, Mac said:
"Those are the kinds of quarterbacks you don't like to face. It limits the type of calls you can make if a guy can do both. You have to account for him." (HSB)

Happy that Moniz first looks for the pass before he runs, offensive coordinator Ron Lee said:
"He looks downfield, and if he doesn't have anybody open, he takes it. He goes through his progression. (Running is) his last resort," (HSB)

About how his passing is more important than his running for the offense, Moniz said:
"I want to be known for throwing the ball, not running the ball. That's what this offense is all about." (HSB)
