Letter from JJ to Hawaii fans

Aloha,

I am writing you today to offer my most heartfelt mahalo to the loyal fans of Warrior football and the many, many dear friends I have made during my nine-year tenure as head football coach. The amazing ride we all shared has been one of the most gratifying and enjoyable experiences of my life.

The decision to leave Hawai'i and my many friends has been incredibly difficult. However, I will continue to visit these great islands whenever I can and hopefully will be able to retire in Hawai’i.

Please know that my heart will always be in Hawai'i. That is why I have decided to keep the June Jones Foundationbased in Honolulu.

The Foundation will continue to support Hawaiian-based charities such as H.U.G.S., Friends of Hawai'i, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawai'i and Na Koa. Among our most successful programs has been the creation of the Eo Na Toa, Eo Na Toa, E campaign, which has already raised nearly $50,000 through merchandise sales. All future proceeds will exclusively benefit Na Koa in support of UH Football.

Mahalo for supporting our outstanding student-athletes during our 12-0 regular season, Western Athletic Conference Championship, and our first-ever appearance in a Bowl Championship Series game, the 2008 Allstate Sugar Bowl. I could not be more proud of our players and fans and firmly believe that the collegiate football excellence we have built together in Hawai’i will continue under the leadership of David McClain, Virginia Hinshaw and the Regents. My love for the Hawai’i Ohana runs deep and will always be part of me.

Warmest Mahalo,
June Jones
