Quotes about how Kauai has gone crazy for Warrior merchandise

KG = Kauai Garden Isle News

About the shipment of UH clothes they expect to get later this week, Jolynne Uyesono, manager for the Kauai Community College bookstore, said:
“We don’t know what the design is, we don’t know what colors are coming. All we know is they’re (Manoa) shipping us something, and we should have some BCS shirts in there.” (KG)

KG Note: "But those shirts are already spoken for, as Uyesono said there are waiting lists for Hawai‘i logowear."

About how their Warrior gear has been selling like crazy lately, Uyesono said:
“It started getting crazy about two or three weeks ago, and after Hawai‘i beat Boise for the Western Athletic Conference championship, it got nuts. We even had Boise parents in here buying Hawai‘i clothes.” (KG)

About the demand for UH clothes now, Uyesono said:
“People have been putting themselves on lists without even knowing what the shirts look like. We don’t want them to call because we don’t have any. All we know is Manoa will be sending us something, when they get around to it.” (KG)

About how some LSU parents bought UH clothes from them after the Washington game, Uyesono said:
“They were planning on going to the Sugar Bowl, but with the Saturday results and the BCS announcements Sunday, they’ve had to change their plans. But they’re happy for Hawai‘i and said the Sugar Bowl is one of the better bowl games to be participating in. Everyone waves tiny packets of sugar.” (KG)

About how things are hectic in Manoa now, Uyesono said:
“They don’t even have the BCS shirt posted on the Rainbowtique Web site yet. There’re no more black shirts for them to print on. It’s just crazy.” (KG)

About how things have been crazy at JJ's Broiler, Anchor Cove restaurant manager Diana Carinio said:
“We were packed Saturday night. I didn’t get home until after midnight.” (KG)

KG Note: "The staff at JJ’s Broiler are anticipating the arrival of University of Hawai‘i head coach June Jones this Sunday. Jones, who will be on an autograph tour to sign copies of Hawai‘i Warrior Football, is scheduled for appearances at Borders Books and Music and JJ’s."
