Dallas Morning News Feature on UH
Comparing UH this season to BSU last year, Karl Benson said:
"It is reminiscent of last year. People last year at this time were somewhat questioning Boise State's strength of schedule and whether they were going to make it to the top 12. We are getting a lot of the same questions that we did a year ago." (Dallas Morning News)
DMN Note: "Now the pitch suggests that Hawaii is this year's Boise State. The problem is the schedule. Hawaii has played Northern Colorado and Charleston Southern in a non-conference slate that went beyond cupcake and straight to the entire dessert cart."
About how teams did not want to play UH, Benson said:
"They got stuck with that non-conference schedule. That's probably the only way you can defend it." (DMN)
About how no team will want to play UH in a BCS bowl, Benson said:
"I'll tell you that on Selection Sunday. ... Nobody is going to want to play Hawaii because of the firepower they have." (DMN)
