Sept. 1 game with University of Northern Colorado is confirmed

Planning to get a Hawaiian shirt for his trip to Hawaii, UNC DL Joe Silipo said:
"That would be cool if coach (Scott) Downing would all let us dress in Hawaiian shirts." (Greely Tribune)


Confirming the story in the Greely Tribune, UNC Interim SID Scott Buck said:
"I can tell you that the story is accurate. The players were told that." (HA)


Buck said that on Tuesday:
"at the end of practice coach Downing called all the players in and informed them of the trip (to Hawai'i). As far as contractual issues go, it's not finalized, so we can't announce it yet. That's what we're waiting on." (HA)

Note: The University of Northern Colorado Bears went 1-10 last year, their first at the 1AA level after moving up from Division II. They do not offer enough scholarhips for the game to count towards the total needed for Bowl eligibility for D1 Teams, but only one of those games can be counted and UH is already playing CSU.
