Charleston Southern learned in 2007 that they need a bye week after traveling to Hawaii

CPC = Charleston Post and Courier

About how they will enjoy Hawaii while they are in town for the football game, head coach Jay Mills said:
"It's not just about the game, but a cultural and educational trip as well. We're going to Pearl Harbor, we'll have a luau and we will take the guys snorkeling in the Pacific Ocean before we head back." (CPC)

About how UH has played a tough schedule so far and may have a more complete team than in 2007, Mills said:
"They are 1-2, but they've played very impressive people. When Colt Brennan was there, he got a lot of attention along with their offense. But this might be more of a complete team than they had in 2007." (CPC)

About how they learned in 2007 that they need a bye week after traveling to Hawaii, Mills said:
"When we came back last time, we were wiped out for a while. We had a night game the next week, and we needed every moment to get ready. I'd say we've learned a little more about jet lag along the way." (CPC)

About how an assistant coach told him during the third quarter of last week's game that he was a grandfather, Mills said:
"He said, 'Coach, I think you are a grandpa.' And then my wife came sprinting down the sideline with her cell phone." (CPC)

About how he talked with his daughter on the phone during the break between 3rd and 4th quarters, Mills said:
"And then I called the next play in the same breath. What a special weekend. My staff gave me a game ball, but my daughter did all the work." (CPC)
