Mack said that the Hawaii Bowl gives UH a chance to play well on national TV after having the BSU game on national TV

Even though their final 3 games are against 1-8 SJSU, 2-7 NMSU, and 1-8 UNLV, Mack said that:
"these aren't gimmes coming up.  Virginia Tech may have thought that, and they lost to James Madison after they lost to Boise State. We can't afford to do that. We have a good season going, even though we had a bad, tough loss." (HSA)

About how the BSU loss hurt because it was on national TV but at least they will be on national TV for the Hawaii Bowl, Mack said:
"That's why the bowl game is so important. That's the next time we're going to be on national television. That's why I feel so fortunate, and these players have worked so hard and beaten some good teams to get to a point of being in a bowl game. Now we've got to win the games up to the bowl game." (HSA)

About how his right forearm's injury (that kept him out of 6 games after it was fractured) was aggravated during their first defensive series against BSU, Spencer Smith said:
"It's sore. I have to keep rehabbing it." (HSA)

About how they won't be having a draft for a Scout Bowl like they had in past years, Austin Hansen said:
"I'd have to take David Graves, because he plays both ways." (HSA)

About how RB Sterling Jackson would have been one of the first 2 players drafted for the Scout Bowl, Siaki Cravens said:
"Did you see how big that man is? He's probably going to be our starting running back next year. He's a downhill runner. He's powerful. He's fast. He has great acceleration. At that weight, he's hard to tackle. We went against him in fall (training camp). We weren't sure if he was going to redshirt or not. I'm 240 pounds, but running into him, I felt it. I think he's going to run all over everybody. That's my MVP right there." (HSA)
