UH was called the big surprise in the WAC so far
RGJ = Reno Gazette-Journal
About how their 4-2 record has helped their team gain confidence, especially after winning at Fresno, Mack said:
"I think it's great for the confidence of our team. That was a good football team. It was a packed house and everybody knows how hard it is to win at Fresno." (RGJ)
About how he wasn't surprised by UH's success, NMSU coach DeWayne Walker said:
"I think Fresno State ran into an underrated football team. I think Hawaii has a big-time football team." (RGJ)
About how it is hard to beat UH in Hawaii (Nevada hasn't done that since 1958), Chris Ault said:
"You know nobody goes into Hawaii as favorites. They're a very good football team. There's no question about it. We know we have to play much better than we have in the past." (RGJ)
