The WAC will wait until Monday to address possible action regarding Mac
HSB Note: "Western Athletic Conference commissioner Karl Benson said the league will not address possible action regarding Greg McMackin’s gaffe at the WAC Football Preview until Monday."
HSB Note: "Benson said he’s had several conversations with UH officials since McMackin used a gay slur during his press conference Thursday in Salt Lake City."
Pleased by the quick response by UH to the controversy, Karl Benson said:
“I was pleased to see the swift and decisive action taken by Chancellor (Virginia) Hinshaw and Jim Donovan and appreciate their quick action." (HSB)
HSB Note: "On Thursday, Benson said the league’s sportsmanship code addresses derogatory statements made by coaches or student-athletes with penalties ranging from a private reprimand to suspension."
