Colt Brennan and Chase Daniel are competing for the #3 QB spot in Washington

RR Note: "During the offseason, there has been speculation that the Washington Redskins might choose to keep both Colt Brennan and Colt Daniel and release the 38-year-old Todd Collins. The thinking was that Collins is not the long-term answer at quarterback so why not go with a youth movement and have a leg up should Jason Campbell leave via free agency at the end of the season."

Asked if both Colt and Chase Daniel could make their roster, Jim Zorn said:
“I’m not going to keep four quarterbacks. I can’t. I will not do that. That’s tough.” (RR)

  1. So. Todd Collins is not the long term to solution to the Redskins. That is too bad. I'm 49. I was getting ready to start preparing for the backup job. There is several certainties regarding the redskins this. Devin Thomas as flanker. There is going to have to be 10 pounds of coke found in the trunk of his car for him not to be thet starting flanker for the skins. Colt Brennan as backup. Collins needs tyo be phenomenal to win that position. Chase Daniels as third string is a stretch. Zorn wants Brennan as backup. Its Brennans to lose. Wanting Chase Daniels I am not so sure about that. The Redskins have had a history of successful no name 3rd string quarterbacks. Collins spent his career behind one of them. He might end up spending the rest of his career behind another one. Wouldn't that be a kick in the ass. But its clear Zorn plans to pass pass pass and one quarterback isn't sufficient. This isn't a Campbell vs. Brennan year. This is a quarterback year. I try to point out to people that the last running back I remember the redskins drafting was 7Ldell Betts. Yet, they drafted 3 pass catchers in the second round alone last year. Does that express the thinking of the Redskins? Should be a good season for Colt.
