Colt Brennan is happy that Chase Daniel is with Washington

WP = Washington Post

WP Note: "Over the past five seasons, 14 different players have been Heisman Trophy finalists. The Redskins are the only team boasting two of those players. That would be Chase Daniel and Colt Brennan, who were both finalists in '07, and wound up hanging out all weekend. Their families hit it off, too, and also spent time together."

About how Chase Daniel and he stuck together after the 2007 Heisman ceremony, Colt said:
"Derrick McFadden and Tim Tebow had their own things set up. Me and him were just kind of like, 'What do you want to do?' " (WP)

WP Note: "Organizers shepherded the duo to a Manhattan club. Brennan had friends from Boston and New York who met them there."

About hanging out with Daniels that night, Colt said:
"We ended up just having a blast the whole night, just hanging out." (WP)

"It was a normal night out on the town for any college kid It was a good time, though. We all took cabs back to the hotel, we got back to the hotel and we saw Tim Tebow and his family, they were just getting back from whatever event they went to and we all took pictures. I had to get up at like 6 or 7 the next morning to get on a 10-hour flight." (WP)

About hanging out with Colt after the Heisman ceremony, Daniel said:
"Just a real mellow guy, a real chill guy. He hasn't changed at all." (WP)

WP Note: "Brennan has called Daniel a few times since he signed with the Redskins, took him out to dinner the first time he came to Redskins Park, and has treated his fellow Heisman finalist's arrival as a good thing, even though they could wind up competing for the same job."

About Washington signing Daniel, Colt said:
"Oh, I was stoked. You never know who's gonna show up. I knew Chase was a good guy, and that's all that matters. I've been around football long enough to know that it's a game, it's a competition, but the best thing you can ask for is a good guy. That makes for healthy competition. That's what it's all about."
