QB Report, with a special update on Bryant Moniz
HSB Note: "Four quarterbacks combined to complete 18 of 21 throws, including two shovel passes, in the team period. Alexander was 7-for-10, including a drop. Brent Rausch, Shane Austin and Bryant Moniz rotated in behind Alexander."
About how their offense is doing better than last year, Rolo said:
"Compared to last spring, we're way ahead. It's a great place to be. We still have room to grow, but it's a great feeling on offense." (HSB)
About getting some significant reps at QB in yesterday's practice, Bryant Moniz said:
"I was nervous just getting back to game speed." (HA)
HA Note: "Moniz, a Leilehua graduate who attended Fresno City College for a season, made several strong throws during team drills."
HA Note: "Greg Alexander, Brent Rausch and Shane Austin get the majority of the snaps in spring practice. Moniz and Steele Jantz often are used on the scout team — as safeties."
About walking on to the team, Moniz said that he is motivated by:
"the love of the game. It keeps me going. I love it, even playing safety on scout team. I have a lot of fun doing that." (HA)
About having a 10-month-old daughter and commuting daily from his home in Wahiawa, Moniz said:
"It's tough, but I figure it will pay off one day." (HA)
