JC DT Zack Masch commits to the Warriors!

TU = The Union

About going to Hawaii after being in the western Arizona heat for two years, Zach Masch said:
“I kind of feel like I deserve to go to Hawaii after working so hard in the freakin’ heat in Yuma (Ariz.)." (TU)

About graduating from his JC early so that he can enroll at UH in January, Masch said:
“That was the whole pla. I wanted to graduate in December to show coaches that I’d matured since high school and that I was willing to take that extra step so I’d be a good student-athlete.” (TU)

TU Note: "Masch, a 6-foot, 3-inch, 290-pound defensive tackle, finished the 2008 season with 46 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks, one fumble recovery and one safety. The sophomore from Nevada City also served as a team captain for the Matadors, who finished the year with a 5-5 record."

About how he was going to visit Louisiana-Lafayette but decided to commit to UH during his recruiting trip to UH and after attending the Cincinnati game, Masch said:
“It just kind of hit me when I was there. What hit me the most was their fans were just crazy, really into it, really supporting the team. And the team has a real good family thing going on. You know, that’s what makes a team play its best.” (TU)

"It was the family atmosphere with the players and the fans at the game were great." (HSB)

About how his former teammate Steele Jantz is at UH, Masch said:
“I met him at the game. We hung out. It was cool. It’s nice to know someone on the team.” (TU)
