Pilares may be moving back to RB due to Libre's injury

About how Pilares will be moving back to RB, Mack said:
"I would know that Kealoha's going to get some time at running back." (HSB)

About how Pilares will be able to adjust quickly back to RB since the offense is the same (the running plays are the same as last year?), Ron Lee said:
"That's kind of his home. We wanted to try him at receiver too, but he can go back to running back. Same stuff, same offense. He knows the running plays." (HSB)

Hopeful that he can practice today or tomorrow, Libre said:
"Feels good. I should be tip-top shape. (The crutches are) just to keep the pressure off of it for now, want it to be as good as possible. I can walk." (HSB)

About how he's hoping to be able to play this Saturday, Libre said:
"I'm planning on it." (HA)

About how he continued to play in the 2nd quarter of the Florida game despite being injured in the first quarter, Libre said:
"It might not have been the best decision, but I was caught up in the moment. I wanted to win. I wanted to help the team win. I didn't want to let them down." (HA)

About how he's down to just one crutch, Libre said:
"I'm only using it because (the trainer) told me to use it. He told me it would help with my recovery." (HA)

About how he had still not been told about how he might be moved back to RB, after yesterday's conditioning drills Pilares said:
"Whatever it is." (HA)

HA Note: "McMackin said there is a possibility that Jake Heun will be available to play. Heun has not practiced since Aug. 4, the first day of training camp, when he suffered a herniated disc. Injuries have affected the depth at running back. David Farmer is sidelined with a sprained right knee. Linebacker Corey Paredes and quarterback Bryce Kalau'oka'a'ea have moved to running back."

HSB Note: "The coach added that junior Jake Heun, who missed much of fall camp with a back injury, could be in the mix at the position. Also, Dave Farmer, who has experience as a starter, said his tweaked knee may be better enough for him to practice this week."

During fall camp, Pilares said that he'd be open to moving back to RB:
"I think I'm more of a slot than a running back, but I'll do both if Coach wants me to." (HSB)

HSB Note: "Lee said Nate Nasca and JC transfers Dustin Blount and Jovonte Taylor will get a look at the backup right slotback spot that Pilares is vacating behind senior Aaron Bain."
