UH feature in the Kauai Garden Isle
Really sad about JJ leaving, Jett Jasper said:
“When I saw coach Jones put on that SMU hat and hold up that jersey I felt like I was about to cry." (KGI)
About Bess and RGM going to the pros, Jasper said:
“Davone and Ryan really thought about it. They talked to their families about it before making the decision and best of luck to them. But the receivers behind them as just as good as them, and it’s too early to say just how successful we’ll be next year. But we’ll still be good.” (KGI)
About Mitch Farney's passing, Jasper said:
“(Out of everything) the biggest thing was that I lost my good friend Mitch Farney. When you play the same position, you become close friends with them. We were really close. I talked to all my teammates and what we’re going to do is call his parents when the grieving period is over and tell them what a great guy he was.” (KGI)
About UH's facilities, Vaughn Meatoga said:
“I know the facilities are bad. It’s better than high school, but compared to the other schools at our level, they’re bad." (KGI)
About JJ leaving UH, Meatoga said:
“I think it’s up to him, he’s a grown man. You can’t keep someone here if he doesn’t want to be here." (KGI)
About how UH will be fine, Meatoga said:
“Coach Jones knows a lot about football so we have to lose in that way, but I’m not really worried about it. We have a lot of good coaches coming back and a lot of good players coming back." (KGI)
