Quotes from Monday morning

Denying the LA Daily News report that he's a "candidate of interest" for the UCLA job, JJ said:
"That's an absolute lie. That's all I've got to say." (HA)

About how nobody stops their offense except for themselves, Colt said:
"If we're having success and we're doing things right, it really can put a defense in a bind, no matter who you are. The only thing we've learned over the last three years is that we've never been stopped. We've only stopped ourselves." (AJC)

Praising Colt and UH's WRs, Georgia coach Mark Richt said:
"People that have played them say their receivers are as good as any you'll see in the country, and the quarterback. They said the quarterback-receiver situation there, you won't go to any school in America and find a better bunch. We've talked to a couple who have played them, and they're like, 'You can count on that.' " (AJC)

About how their coaches are comparing Colt to Tebow, CB Bryan Evans said:
"There is a lot of talk they are trying to compare him to [Florida's Tim] Tebow. Anytime you play a person that they compare to Tebow the defense needs to come and bring their A game." (AJC)

AJC Note: "The rub is that the defense will have to bring its b, c, d even z packages. Hawaii uses as many as five receivers on one play. So say goodbye to strongside linebacker Akeem Dent and hello to five maybe even six defensive backs."

About how they are 9-deep in the secondary, which will come in handy against UH, Richt said:
"I would think we are going to rotate [to stay fresh]. I am thankful this year we have really rotated our defensive personnel. We have kept people pretty fresh." (AJC)

About UH's offense, CB Thomas Flowers said:
"[The Warriors] are going to get their yards. The key is to just play very aggressive and play smart. We have a lot of confidence and time to prepare our game plan." (JAC)

About how their offense allows them a chance to compete against superior athletes, Colt said:
"What's great about this offense is that it's so true that it takes mediocre talent and it makes it better. What's amazing is that coach Jones brought an offense to a school that doesn't get prime athletes. As the talent has gotten better over the years with the success, it's made the offense and the team that much better." (AJC)
