Quotes from Jacob Bower

About how he cannot sign with a MWC school, top QB prospect Jacob Bower said:
“I found out that I can’t really sign with a Mountain West school. Since I was at BYU and then I left, if I were to go back to a Mountain West school, I would have to sit out one more year and I can’t do that so I had to start looking at some other schools. It’s pretty frustrating because teams like San Diego State, Colorado State, Utah and TCU were all recruiting me pretty hard, but with me having to sit out, I just can’t do that.” (JCFootball.com)

JCF Note: "This coming weekend, Bower was scheduled to visit Hawaii, but there’s a chance that head coach June Jones could be headed to another school and that’s put the visit to the islands on hold."

About delaying his recruiting visit to UH, Bower said:
“They told me they wanted to make sure things were all in place before I was to go visit over there. They want to bring in two JC quarterbacks, so it sounds like they would have room for both of us (Bower and Mt. San Antonio’s Kevin Craft). If coach Jones goes somewhere else I might look there, but I’m just keeping my options open to any school that wants to recruit me.” (JCF)

About his recruiting visit to Troy, Bower said:
"They play Ohio State and LSU next year so you’d be playing against some big-time programs and some great players there. Boise State started recruiting me again this past week and so they are another school I’m going to look at.” (JCF)

About Norm Chow possibly getting a college head coaching job, Bower said:
“He’s been a family friend for a long time so I would feel really comfortable with him if he was able to bring me in somewhere." (JCF)
