Quotes from Georgia
MT = Macon Telegraph
CLE = Columbus Ledger-Enquirer
Curious as to how different New Orleans will be as compared to when they last played there 5 in the Sugar Bowl years ago, Mark Richt said:
"I'm interested to see what it looks like. I wouldn't think it would look exactly the same. How could it?" (MT)
About how it is hard to beat a team that is used to winning, Richt said:
"Teams that are used to winning are just really tough to beat. That's all there is to it." (MT)
Praising Georgia, JJ said:
"(Georgia is) by far the best team we've played since I've been here," Jones said. "They've got a lot of great athletes, a lot of team speed. We will have to play a perfect game to hang with them, but our guys are excited about going." (MT)
About UH, Georgia tailback Thomas Brown said:
"They play with a swagger, a different type of demeanor. They're very confident. They haven't lost a game and they've kinda been rolling through everybody, so any team like that is gonna be dangerous." (CLE)
CLE NOte: "The Bulldogs have practiced nine times in Athens since their Nov. 24 regular-season finale against Georgia Tech, but they will have had a 37-day layoff between games when they take the field for the Sugar Bowl. Hawaii faces a similar situation, having been off since its Dec. 1 win over Washington. The Warriors arrived in New Orleans on Christmas Day after a 4,200-mile flight from Honolulu and are also scheduled to practice for the first time today."
Pleased with their last week of practices in Hawaii, JJ said:
"It's the best five practices we've had all year. I don't think it's urgency, it's that Š we have a lot of good senior leadership, a lot of good leaders within the group and peer pressure to focus on the game." (CLE)
About UH's offense, CB Asher Allen said:
"It kinda seems like it's a video game for them. They're able just to make plays at will." (CLE)
