Feature on Colt from the San Francisco Chronicle
About how his recruiting coordinator (Brent Brennan, Colt's cousin) convinced him to offer Colt a scholarship, Tomey said:
"Brent knew that some of the difficulties Colt had had were not truly representative of the kind of person he was." (SFC)
About how Colt took a recruiting trip to SJSU, Tomey said:
"He wasn't interested, and really he was better off going to Hawaii." (SFC)
About how it is still possible for him to win the Heisman, Colt said:
"I'm a firm believer that anything is possible, that you can defy the odds." (SFC)
About what he has to do to win the Heisman, Colt said:
"I realize my team's record is the key factor in earning that trophy. Last year, I had the best stats anyone could have, and if we had won one or two more games, it might have elevated me." (SFC)
About how they haven't proven anything during their soft first half of the season, Colt said:
"We realize we haven't proven anything yet. It's the rest of the season that will matter. No matter how I did early in this season, no one cared what I did in the first six games." (SFC)
About how there is less pressure playing in Hawaii than the mainland, Colt said:
"I don't think there's as much pressure about the BCS as there would be if we were on the mainland. It's a lot easier living in Hawaii." (SFC)
