Quotes from USCHO about the Warriors
About how UH has been improving, JJ said:
"We're maturing as a football team. All of them have taken a lot of pride in their efforts. We're 3-0 right now. We have to get better every week, and we have to play better this week to just keep inching along on what we want to do. We have to stay focused. If we can do that, we'll get better." (USCHO)
About taking CSU seriously, JJ said:
"We're treating them just like Appalachian State against Michigan. It has been more difficult than we had hoped. They are similar to a lot of teams we play, and they run offensively similar to what Vegas did." (USCHO)
About how they still have a lot of improvement to make, Bess said:
"Offensively, we're not there yet. Defensively they're not there yet, but you keep working harder week in and week out and you get better. Right now we have to work, and we can't be thankful or grateful for anything. We just have to keep working hard and getting hungry." (USCHO)
About being the #1 passing team in the US, RGM said:
"We definitely think that we deserve to be there. But we just have to keep working hard and improving." (USCHO)
About their defensive improvement during their road trip, JJ said:
"I thought the overall scheme was settled and got going. I could see an attitude start to happen now. Hopefully we are going to start taking the ball away a little bit more. The only thing that we have fallen short, we have had a lot of chances and hands on the ball and we have not been coming down with them. The second we start coming down with (them) then it will snowball." (USCHO)
About his injury and playing in the CSU game, Colt said:
"I'm not going to push it. No matter what, I'm going to take all the precautions in the world. No disrespect, but this is a I-AA football team, and if there is a week for (an injury) to happen it is this week for us. It lets the other guys step up this week in practice." (USCHO)
About how they will work on improving themselves, Colt said:
"(It's like coach Jones says), if we worry about ourselves we'll be all right. So the next couple days we're going to worry about ourselves, and Saturday we'll just worry about ourselves and we'll be fine." (USCHO)
