Quotes about the La Tech game
About their goal being to force Colt to stay in his uniform, unlike what happened in the UNC game, La Tech coach Derek Dooley said:
“It’s going to be a good challenge for our defense. I saw where Colt was in his street clothes the second half. Our goal is going to be to keep him in his uniform at least four quarters. We have to start off strong in order to do that.” (Latechsports.com)
About the challege they have when facing Colt and the UH offense, Dooley said:
“I don’t really need to say much about Hawaii. Everybody knows what a challenge it’s going to be for our team. The No. 1 offense in the country; the Heisman Trophy candidate. It’s going to be a great challenge. I don’t think anybody’s ever stopped them. We’ve got to find a way to slow them down. Somehow we’ve got to affect the quarterback’s rhythm. If we don’t, and he’s in a rhythm, it’s going to be a tough night.” (Latechsports.com)
