Deyon McElroy Interview by The Warrior Insider
Knowing that accepting a scholarship offer from UH was the right decision, McElroy said:
“Honestly the fact that the football team has a very good program, send players to the NFL, and who in there right mind would pass up an offer from Hawaii!” (WI)
About being All-Foothill Conference First Team, with 6 INTs and 20 passes broken up, McElroy said:
“I give all the glory to God; He makes me all the good things that I am and he blessed me with a great DB coach the last two years, Coach Hadaway.” (WI)
WI Note: "Deyon first committed to Wyoming earlier this year but it didn’t feel right to him. Deyon was able to talk to close friend Ryan Grice-Mullins and Coach Reinebold and they made him feel comfortable enough to make a commitment to play for Hawaii."
About Hawaii, McElroy said:
“Just the fact that it’s a great place full of great people, and a great opportunity to extend my education and my football career” (WI)
About how he was impressed when he watched a Warrior practice and toured the campus while on vacation earlier this year, McElroy said:
” I thought Hawaii was one of the best wait, THE best place I have ever been. The people in the community treated me and my family like family.” (WI)
