Colt still hopes to play

Hoping he gets to play vs. CSU, Colt said:
"It feels a lot better every day. If it continues to heal the way it's been healing, and Saturday I wake up and it feels good and I can go, I'm gonna go. No doubt about that." (HA)

HA Note: "During yesterday's practice, Brennan wore shoulder pads, threw lightly on the side, and only handed off in 11-on-11 drills. After consulting with head coach June Jones, Brennan did not throw passes during drills. He pushes off on his right foot when he passes."

About not throwing in practice yesterday, Colt said:
"It's healing so well, I didn't want to aggravate it. By Saturday night, I think it'll be good enough to play on." (HA)

JJ said that even if Colt does not practice today:
"as long as it feels OK on game day, I'll let him play." (HA)

About how JJ asked him to use a heavily padded medical boot instead of crutches, Colt said:
"I think the boot helps because it makes it easier to move around. At the same time, I'm walking, and that's good." (HA)

About Colt wearing the boot, JJ said:
"He's good enough he can play in that boot." (HA)

About how he should be able to tell today if he can play tomorrow, Colt said:
"(Today) should be a good indication. Mornings are the hardest part because the ankle's stiff. But I wanted to get out there and run around. By Saturday night it should be healed up enough (to play)." (HSB)

About how he won't risk future games for a game vs. a I-AA team that they are favored by 60 points over, Colt said:
"It's a good point. It all depends on how I feel Saturday. I want to get out there and play some series. But if there's going to be any negative effect ... I'm not shooting it up for this game." (HSB)
