About their upcoming season, JJ said:
“To have a good season you need to get a little lucky and of course win on the road ... We have some tough games, but right now we are concentrating on Northern Colorado (the season opener on Sept. 1).” (HJ)

About the 12 players from last season who signed pro contracts, JJ said:
“We’re excited about the team coming back, but we lost a lot of good players. That is a concern, but we have some good players returning.” (HJ)

About returning to UH, Colt said:
“I’m glad I decided to stay. I’ve never thought about the Heisman, I just want to be the starting quarterback. I need to keep working.” (HJ)

Happy that Colt came back, JJ said:
“Of course we are excited Colt elected to come back and play another season. He is a great kid and very talented. Most of all, he is a winner.” (HJ)

Praising their receivers, Colt said:
“I think we have by far the best wide receiver corps in the nation. I feel lucky. I got three of the best receivers dropped off on my doorstep.” (HJ)

JJ pointed out that Colt's mobility and quick release will help their inexperienced OL:
“Colt is hard to get to and has a quick release." (HJ)

About he, more than the rest of the team, will miss Glanville, JJ said:
“I don’t think that will affect the team. Me on the other hand, I had a ball in meetings. I hadn’t had so much fun since I worked for him.” (HJ)
