Quotes about Ian Sample's deleted chapters
Sample wrote about the drug testing:
"The higher-ups definitely know what they are doing when they decide who will be tested." (HSB)
HSB Note: "Sample said he has no direct proof of drug testing irregularities, but that prominent players known to use drugs are never picked for the tests. He wrote that he did not use drugs while at UH."
About how he wrote things from his perspective, Sample said:
"I am writing about what I have experienced. If anyone on the team came to me and said this is bad stuff, then I'd feel regret about it." (HSB)
About how he hasn't read the book, the deleted chapters, or spoken with Sample since the book came out, JJ said:
"I don't really care what he wrote." (HSB)
About how UH officials will review Sample's comments, John Mcnamara said:
"Herman (athletic director Frazier) said he hasn't had a chance to review the material yet so it would not be prudent to comment." (HSB)
